About Ali-Kat

Ali-Kat is a 10m (33ft) alloy catamaran built in 1996 by Bladerunner Boats, Kumeu with a wide beam of 3.6m providing extra stability and a comfortable fishing platform. Ali-Kat is powered by 2 x 225 HP Yamaha outboards making for a fast ride to the Kaipara Heads.

The Fishing:

• MSA surveyed for 15 passengers but max number for comfortable fishing is 10.
• Inshore fishing with offshore fishing in the near future.
• Targeting many kinds of fish including Snapper, Kingfish, Kahawai, Gurnard, Trevally...

We pick up from Springs Rd, Parakai or Shelly Beach Wharf, South Head.

What to bring:

• A sturdy fishing rod
• Recommended line 25lbs upwards
• Sinkers. You will need a selection of 10, 20 and possibly 30oz.
• Bait. We recommend a selection of Mullet, Squid and Pilchards. Approximate amount for a day per person: Two Mullet, 1 Kg Squid, 300-500g Pilchards.
• Food for the day.
• Suitable clothing for outdoor conditions that can change rapidly.
